Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) is used for:
Treating bleeding in patients with congenital fibrinogen deficiency (eg, afibrinogenemia, hypofibrinogenemia).
Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) is a hematological agent. It works by replacing a certain protein in the blood that helps with blood clotting.
Do NOT use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human)

Before using Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human):
Some medical conditions may interact with Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human). Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

How to use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human):
Use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) is usually given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic.
- Do not use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
- If you miss a dose of Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human), contact your doctor right away.

Important safety information:
- Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) contains albumin, which comes from human blood. There is a very rare risk of getting a viral disease or a central nervous system disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease from products with albumin. No cases of these problems have been found in patients who have used Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human).
- Blood clots may occur unexpectedly in patients with fibrinogen deficiency. This may occur with or without use of Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human). Contact your doctor right away if you experience signs of a blood clot (eg, chest pain, leg pain or swelling, trouble breathing, or coughing up blood).
- Lab tests, including fibrinogen levels, may be performed while you use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human). These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
- Use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
- Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN younger than 16 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) while you are pregnant. It is not known if Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human) is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human), check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Possible side effects of Fibrinogen Concentrate (Human):
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Headache; nausea; vomiting.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); chills; fever; symptoms of a blood clot (eg, chest pain; confusion; coughing up blood; fainting; numbness of arms or legs; one-sided weakness, slurred speech, mental changes; pain, numbness, or swelling of an arm or leg; sudden, severe headache or vomiting; shortness of breath).
