Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children younger than 6 years of age. Keep this product out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.





Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals is used for:

Treating anemia caused by low levels of iron or folate in the blood. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.


Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals is an iron, folic acid, vitamin, and mineral combination. It works by providing iron, folic acid, vitamins, and minerals when the body does not produce enough of its own.


Do NOT use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals if:


  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals

  • you have iron metabolism problems (eg, hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis), certain types of anemia (pernicious, hemolytic), or high levels of iron in your blood

  • you have copper metabolism problems (Wilson disease)

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.



Before using Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals:


Some medical conditions may interact with Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you


  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

  • if you have stomach or bowel problems (eg, ulcer, bowel irritation or inflammation, Crohn disease)

  • if you have another type of anemia (eg, megaloblastic), a blood disorder (eg, thalassemia, porphyria), or if you have had multiple blood transfusions

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:


  • Fluorouracil because the risk of its side effects may be increased by Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals

  • Doxycycline, hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), penicillamine, or thyroid hormones (eg, levothyroxine) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals

How to use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals:


Use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.


  • Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals is absorbed better on an empty stomach, but may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach.

  • If you also take an antacid, bisphosphonate (eg, alendronate), cefdinir, eltrombopag, methyldopa, penicillamine, quinolone antibiotic (eg, levofloxacin), or tetracycline antibiotic (eg, minocycline), ask your doctor or pharmacist how to take it with Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals.

  • Do NOT take Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals within 1 hour before or 2 hours after eggs, whole grain breads or cereal, milk, milk products, coffee, or tea.

  • Take Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL).

  • If you miss a dose of Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:


  • Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals has iron in it. Iron overdose is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children younger than 6 years of age. In case of an overdose, call a doctor or poison control center right away.

  • Do not take more than the recommended dose without checking with your doctor.

  • Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals has folic acid, iron, and zinc in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has folic acid, iron, or zinc in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Do not take large doses of vitamins while you use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals unless your doctor tells you to.

  • While you are taking Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals, you may notice a darkening of stools. This is normal.

  • Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals may cause false test results with kits used to check for blood in the stool or blood cholesterol. Check with your doctor if you are using either kind of test kit.

  • Lab tests, including blood counts and blood iron levels, may be performed while you use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

  • Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals should not be used in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.

  • PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals while you are pregnant. Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.


Possible side effects of Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals:


All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:



Constipation; darkened or green stools; diarrhea; loss of appetite; nausea; stomach discomfort.



Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry stools; blood or streaks of blood in the stool; severe or persistent stomach pain.

Symptoms may include coma; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever; seizures; severe nausea; stomach pain; tarry stools; trouble breathing; unusual tiredness; or vomiting. Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in CHILDREN younger than 6 years of age. Keep Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals out of the reach of children.


Proper storage of Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals:

Store Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Ferrous Fumarate/Folic Acid/B Complex/Vitamin C/Minerals out of the reach of children and away from pets.
